FlorestaNFT was born today!
Today environmental sustainability is in deep crisis: the increasing crowding on planet Earth within a system of turbo capitalism is leading the planet to collapse, causing irreversible damage due to overproduction, the absence of raw materials and the increasing pollution.
To suffer, among the many, there is also the Amazon rainforest, the lung of the earth, which has always been the center of media attention because of the continuous activities of deforestation, illegal and otherwise, combined with threats to the flora and fauna that inhabit it.
The world cannot remain motionless before the flow of the clock, which inexorably continues towards an irreversible crisis from which one cannot turn back. We asked ourselves: what can we do?
This is how FlorestaNFT is born, a digital project that wants to exploit Blockchain technology to ensure the preservation of the Amazon rainforest. By converting vast real areas of the Amazon rainforest into NFTs, we want to give everyone, from individual citizens to large companies, the opportunity to play their part in protecting the environment.
The NFTs produced in this way represent each a real portion of the forest and are not only an important environmental protection activity, but also an advantageous investment opportunity: NFTs can be “staked” and yield every year a given amount of Carbon Credits per unit.
A Carbon Credit refers to any tradable certificate or permit representing the right to emit one tonne of carbon dioxide or the equivalent amount of a different greenhouse gas.
In other words, the Amazon rainforest could become one of the largest staking pools in the world and create the conditions for the development of a true #greenDeFi.
In this sense we can clearly understand the two fronts on which FlorestaNFT moves: the earth and the digital platform.
Therefore, we can define FlorestaNFT as one of the first Phygital web3 projects that have been realized.
